The latest edition of Plastics & Rubber Indonesia, 16- 19 November 2011, has proved to be South East Asia’s largest and busiest dedicated B2B trade exhibition for the plastics & rubber industries. “Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2011 has definitely been the biggest ever plastics event in Indonesia to date. The level of visitors and customers has been excellent.” Fritz Wimmer, Sales Group Manager, Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen.

The 4 day exhibition in Jakarta provided the crowded aisles of trade visitors with a comprehensive display of machinery from across the globe. In total the 595 exhibiting companies, including national pavilions from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, The Netherlands and Taiwan offered the 11,846 buyers and specifiers plenty of choice when it came to the latest machinery, technologies and solutions. “This has been our 2nd participation at Plastics & Rubber Indonesia and this time we invested in bringing a machine to display. This has been the right thing to do and we are very happy with the results. It’s been really worthwhile to have exhibited here and we definitely plan to return in 2012.” Eric Joussain, Project Adviser, Engel.

Additionally a one day conference organised by PRA (Plastics & Rubber Asia) on the subject of green plastic packaging, included keynote speakers from Lanxess and BASF, ran alongside the exhibition. This proved to be a big draw attracting over 100 delegates eager to exchange ideas about the environmental issues and industry trends affecting the sector.

“Our decision to run Plastics & Rubber Indonesia as a stand alone event has been unanimously and enthusiastically approved by all our exhibitors and visitors” reported Ian Roberts Managing Director of the organisers: PT Pamerindo Indonesia. “Formerly part of the Manufacturing Indonesia series of exhibitions, Plastics & Rubber Indonesia was restricted to two halls. Indonesia’s current market strength and future growth potential mean Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2012 will continue this positive trend. The organisers were inundated with requests from current and new exhibitors and national pavilion organisers to expand locations for next year. “It has been a great show, all our participants are pleased and we have sold many machines” said Gary Yang, Director of Taiwan Association of Machinery Industries (TAMI).
